Flights from Bournemouth Airport to Croatia take off for the first time this weekend (June 18) with Ryanair’s new service to the resort of Zadar on Croatia’s stunning Dalmatian coast.
It brings to 15 the number of Ryanair routes available from Bournemouth this year, and follows the launch of new flights to Bergerac in France earlier this month.
Zadar is described by Rough Guides as “one of the coolest places on the Adriatic”. Circled by islands, coves and bays, it is renowned for its Roman and Venetian ruins, uncrowded white sand beaches and proximity to Croatia’s national parks, including Plitvice Lakes with the country’s highest waterfall.
Steve Gill, Managing Director of Bournemouth Airport, said: “Zadar is a fantastic addition to our summer schedule, and it puts one of the Adriatic’s hidden gems within easy reach. It means there’s even more choice for holidaymakers from their local airport this summer.”
Steve added that since the start of the summer season last month Bournemouth Airport had despatched over 250 commercial holiday flights carrying more than 45,000 passengers with less than 1% experiencing any significant delay.
Ryanair’s routes from Bournemouth include: Spain (Alicante, Girona (Barcelona), Gran Canaria, Malaga, Murcia, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife), Ireland (Dublin), Hungary (Budapest), Poland (Krakow and Wroclaw), Portugal (Faro and Lisbon), Croatia (Zadar) and France (Bergerac).
In total Bournemouth Airport is offering 33 destinations in 16 countries for 2022/23.
