easyJet has today announced two new domestic routes from Bournemouth to Belfast and Edinburgh. On sale today, the new routes will provide customers within Dorset region more domestic connections and more choice this summer to book a UK summer break.

Edinburgh mixes cobbled streets with a modern skyline and a very famous castle and will be a firm favourite for those seeking a UK break this summer or alternatively, just a short flight over the Irish Sea, Belfast equally offers an intriguing city break. Birthplace of the Titanic, the Northern Irish capital is perfect for those wishing to combine an inspiring metropolitan city with historic castles, coastal scenery and rolling hills.

Flights will operate up to twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays to Belfast from 26th May and on Thursdays and Sundays to Edinburgh, with flights scheduled to take off from 27 May 2021 and continue throughout the summer. Flights are now on sale at easyJet.com with fares available from just £22.99*.

All customers booking flights with easyJet benefit from some of the most flexible policies under its ‘Protection Promise’ which means that customers can book now for later this year with the confidence that if their plans change, so can their booking.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager said:

“We’re delighted to offer two new domestic services from Bournemouth to Belfast and Edinburgh for the first time and are pleased to provide our customers in the region more choice for those looking for a long-awaited summer break. We remain committed to offering great value fares and more choice when for customer flying with us.

“Our Protection Promise means that customers can book with confidence knowing that if they are unable to travel or their plans change so can their flights or holiday, and while the summer may be a little while off, we will be working around the clock to ensure we will be ready to ramp up our flights to reconnect friends and family or take them on long-awaited holiday to remember.”

Steve Gill, Managing Director of Bournemouth Airport, said:

“The addition of Edinburgh and Belfast with easyJet rounds off an exciting week for Bournemouth Airport and the Dorset region, following the launch of our 2021-22 summer/winter schedule which now includes 32 destinations in 14 countries. We’re delighted to extend our flying programme with easyJet, with domestic routes in high demand for staycations and business links, all with the ease and convenience of flying from your local airport.”

easyJet and easyJet holidays have introduced market-leading flexible customer policies under its ‘Protection Promise’, meaning that customers can book now with the confidence that if their plans change, so can their booking. This includes a Refund Guarantee for flights or holidays if they are cancelled plus a full refund for holidays if a customer changes their mind up to 28 days before and – unlike other airlines – with our Travel Ban Protection customers can also receive a refund for non-cancelled flights if plans are impacted by travel bans in a regional or national lockdown; the Freedom To Change flights without a fee up to 14 days before departure, and change a holiday up to 28 days before departure; and if quarantine measures come in to place last minute, our Quarantine Assurance also means impacted flights can be changed without a change fee. All holidays are covered under easyJet holidays’ Covid commitments if holidays cannot go ahead or are impacted by restrictions.

Safety and wellbeing of all customers and crew remains easyJet’s highest priority and the airline continues to have a number of biological safety measures in place onboard in line with guidance from the relevant authorities. This includes daily enhanced cabin disinfection effective in protecting against coronavirus for at least 24 hours and mandatory mask wearing for customers and crew. All easyJet aircraft are already fitted with HEPA filters, similar to those used in hospitals, which filter 99.97% of airborne contaminants in the cabin, including viruses and bacteria.
