Bournemouth Airport lands top five spot in Which? survey

Customer satisfaction at Bournemouth Airport

Bournemouth Airport has been ranked fifth among UK airports for customer satisfaction in an annual survey by consumer group Which?

The ranking, one place up on last year, takes in factors such as staff friendliness, the range of shops, seating, toilets, check-in queues and waiting times.

Bournemouth’s 72% rating is based on a combination of overall satisfaction and how likely respondents are to recommend the airport.

Altogether, 30 UK airports and major terminals were assessed by Which? in April and May this year, with 4,499 respondents surveyed about 6,237 airport experiences.

Stephen Gill, Bournemouth Airport’s Managing Director, said: “We’re thrilled to have joined the top five having increased our customer satisfaction rating from last year. We’re outperforming many larger flight hubs. This result is further proof of the great experience passengers have when flying from smaller airports. Here at Bournemouth, it’s all down to the hard work and dedication of our team.”

The ranking comes hot on the heels of a major makeover of the airport’s Navigator pub and launch of new, 40-cover Costa Coffee store.

Bournemouth is part of Regional & City Airports, the airports management division of Rigby Group plc.

Around 700,000 passengers flew from or to Bournemouth in the past year with RCA anticipating 20% growth in the year ahead with an extra 150,000 passengers and a doubling of numbers to around 1.5 million over the next five years.

Which? placed another RCA airport, Exeter, in its top five this year with a customer satisfaction score of 73%.
