Bournemouth Airport has welcomed Ryanair’s announcement of a new twice-weekly service to Porto for summer 2027, giving holidaymakers another exciting European destination to fly to directly from their local airport.
The new route to Portugal’s second-largest city will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays, offering convenient options for both short breaks and longer holidays.
Situated on the banks of the River Douro, Porto is famous for its historic waterfront, port wine cellars and vibrant food and cultural scene. The city is also a gateway to northern Portugal, including the scenic Douro Valley and the region’s Atlantic coastline.

The announcement marks another expansion of Ryanair’s operations at Bournemouth Airport, where the airline has continued to grow its network of European destinations.
Ryanair operated 20 routes from Bournemouth during summer 2026, including a new service to Trapani in Sicily and additional flights to Alicante, Malaga and Edinburgh.
Steve Gill, Managing Director of Bournemouth Airport, said: “We’re delighted that Ryanair is adding Porto to its growing network from Bournemouth Airport.
“Porto is a fantastic destination for a city break, with its rich history, culture and excellent food and wine, while northern Portugal has so much more to offer visitors looking to explore.
“This is another welcome addition to our route network and further demonstrates the confidence our airline partners have in Bournemouth as we continue to grow and offer passengers across the region even more choice.”
The new Porto service is among the first 29 routes announced by Ryanair as part of its summer 2027 schedule, with flights available to book now at www.ryanair.com.
