Paphos being a coastal city in Cyprus has a wonderfully warm climate the whole year round. During the coolest month in winter the average temperature is around 12ºC. During the warmest summer month, the average temperature is around 26ºC. During the summer months the temperatures regularly reach into the 30ºC’s. Sitting on the Mediterranean Sea the water temperatures can reach on average during the warmest summer month around 25ºC.

Cyprus does not have many sandy beaches of note due to the rocky nature of the country however Paphos does have a few beaches in and around that are covered in sand very well appointed. The main communal beach in Paphos has a bar/restaurant that provided refreshments and food for the people on the beach and located all around the water’s edge in Paphos are numerous water sports centres that offer activities such as Paddle boarding, wind surfing, small boat hire, jet ski hire, inflatable rides, power boat rides and para-sailing.

The pirate ship leaves from Paphos harbour and passes along the front of Paphos and its catchy pirate tunes can be heard playing as it sails away and sails back into the harbour several hours later. Don’t be fooled in thinking that this trip is only for children as all ages can enjoy the tour.

Paphos harbour is a very active place, there are many other excursions on offer. The traveller can take a glass bottomed boat tour which travels along the coast to view all the underwater life. There is also a boat tour the traveller can take can to watch for turtles.

One of the key structures in Paphos can be seen at the harbour entrance and is Paphos castle. This castle has been rebuilt many times over the centuries due to natural disasters or invasion but nowadays is used as focal point for any celebrations that occur in the harbour.

In the evening Paphos harbour lights up with all the bars, cafes and restaurants that sit water side or close buy. It is the main evening focal point of the locals and traveller’s a like and there are many different types of local foods on offer and wonderfully colourful cocktails.

There are restaurants offering selections from around the world and still a few local restaurants that offer a typical Meze or fish Meze which is washed down by a local wine.

When the restaurants close the bars and cafes become very busy and the bustling vibrant nightlife is done in the relaxed and friendly manner of most Mediterranean countries.
