Bournemouth Airport Arrivals Terminal now open!
The arrivals terminal has been designed to be carbon neutral. This has been achieved by awide range of energy efficient features – including the installation of 323 photovoltaic (solar) panels on the roof of the building.
To put this into context, it is estimated that the solar panels on the roof will generate enough electricity to power more than 130 homes.
Other energy efficient features include the use of passive lighting and ventilation throughout the building, solar shading and the use of air source heat pumps.
There is a computerised building management system that controls the heating, lighting and cooling.
In summary the new arrivals terminal is designed not only to delight our passenger but to be as environmentally aware as possible.
We look forward to you using our new terminal buildings.
