Winter Takes Off With New Routes From Bournemouth Airport
This winter sees the launch of four new Scheduled European destinations from Bournemouth Airport. Low cost operators, easyJet and Ryanair have both added new destinations to the Airport’s existing portfolio of winter routes.
Services to Alicante with Ryanair commence in December 2007, offering passengers the popular sun resort of Alicante and the Costa Blanca. For those passengers looking for an easy way to get to the ski slopes of the Italian Dolomites, a new weekly Saturday service to Bergamo will also start this season. This is the first time there has been a direct route from Bournemouth to the Dolomites. Transfers are available from Bergamo Airport to the slopes with typical transfer times of just an hour.
easyJet’s new destination, Krakow, flying three times a week from Bournemouth Airport, commences on 30 October 2007. Krakow is the newest addition to be made to easyjet’s winter programme, taking the total number of destinations from the operator to three. In addition to the existing route to Geneva, easyjet has also launched a service to Grenoble, a popular ski and snowboarding destination from the Airport.
Bournemouth Airport’s winter charter programme continues to grow with the introduction of Tunisia and Fuerteventura with Palmair. These new routes are now on sale with leading independent travel agent Bath Travel and other ABTA travel agents, routes start in 2008 direct from Bournemouth Airport.
Peter Duffy, Managing Director Bournemouth Airport said
“The additional routes are great news for the Airport as we continue to offer our customers a growing choice of destinations. We now allow our customer to travel further from their local Airport with a great selection of destinations when choosing a winter break from Bournemouth Airport”.
